Pinellas County, with its 45 kilometres of barrier island beaches, is Tampa’s Gulf shore playground. It includes Dunedin, Largo, Clearwater and the city of St Petersburg, plus a long strip of sandy islands. North of Clearwater are two of the last natural barrier islands: Honeymoon Island and Caldesi Island. The area is well known for its water sports and the marina offers tennis, a hot tub, a tropical poolside bar and banqueting facilities. Tarpon fishing is also popular, and fishing charter boats are readily available. Golf is catered for by the Copperhead course at Innisbrook.
