Aicon 75 Fly at the 2009 Genoa Boat Show

Return

At the next Genoa Boat Show in October, the Aicon 75 Fly will be present. It has recently beenrenovated but still maintains the fundamental characteristics which have determined its successfrom the start. The Aicon 75 Fly is a yacht which translates the key concepts of the Aicon style: spatial continuity and essentialness in an ideally open environment guaranteeing privacy and independence to each area whilst accentuating its livability. The design of the Aicon 75 Fly has been planned to ensure a sailing experience in the pursuit of harmony and wellbeing and to enhance the usability of the vessel, with its ideally continuous interior and exterior layout which underscores the functionality of every area. The result is a basic design approach which exemplifies the expressive and constructive rationality of Aicon vessels and the characteristic style of the shipyard. The profile of the new Aicon 75 Fly has been streamlined without changing the decisive lines which characterize the model. More room has also been obtained on the fly by moving the tender to the sun pad thus creating an independent area for enjoying moments of relaxation onboard. The Exterior – Fluid Forms and Harmonious Lines. The exterior areas of the Aicon 75 Fly are defined by fluid forms characteristic of the Aicon style, a tangible expression of “form in movement”. The lines are ideally continuous and silhouetted against its profile to the point of creating an ideal unicum among the hull, the topside and the line of the radar hatch. The stern cockpit is ample and has a comfortable sofa which can be used as seating for the folding table, the ladder which leads to the flybridge is to the right of the large mirrored glass door which opens onto the living area. There is a large peak stowage locker on the fore part of the right-hand passageway near the master cabin. The cockpit which is also centrally located on the flybridge has double helmsman seating and behind it a cabinet with an electric grill for outdoor barbequing. In front of the dashboard an ample and comfortable sunbathing area has been created. The Living Area –Independence of Space. The living area of the Aicon 75 Fly on the one hand is characterized by spacious harmony whichallows the view of an ideally continuous environment, and on the other hand by independence of the single areas, each with its own sense of balance. Proceeding from the cockpit towards the interior of the vessel, the space is characterized by the living area, complete with facing sofas which form a pleasurable conversation area. A rotating TV cabinet with a hide-away LCD TV allows viewing from the dining as well as from the living area and separates this space from the dinette with its glass table seating eight set off by the galley cabinets on the other side. Although the galley area is a central element and the depth perspective for the dining area, it does not interrupt the fluidity of the environment or the view all the way to the command bridge where the helm is equipped with a comfortable double helmsman seating. Towards stern on the right there is an office area with desk. The same fluidity of space continues at the center of the Aicon 75 Fly: the galley has two sliding doors on both the left and the right in correspondence of the two side hatches, (the right one is optional), in order to maintain visual and spatial continuity along the transversal axis of the boat and to assure good ventilation. The living areas as well as the deck area have leather inserts which run the length of the vessel from stern to bow both above and below deck to form an ideal line. The Sleeping Quarters – Privacy and Light. The sleeping quarters are accessed by a ladder at stern between the helm and the desk which leads to an ample, open and well-lit area of approximately 1.5 meters, used as a lobby. From here, the passageway towards stern leads to the two guest cabins with symmetrically placed twin beds. Both cabins have ensuite bathrooms with shower and wardrobe. At the center, taking advantage of the full beam is the ample master cabin, with a walk-in closet, beauty table/desk abreast of the large openable porthole, which is a distinctive element of the Aicon hull, and sofa on the opposite side, in correspondence to the other porthole. Starting from the model which will be shown at the Boat Show in Genoa, the master cabin is even more spacious, having been lengthened by approximately one meter. The bathroom has been moved behind the cabin, taking advantage of the width, making it even more comfortable. With its double wash basins with cabinet, and shower with Jacuzzi, it is separated from the cabin by a sliding door. At bow is the VIP cabin complete with wardrobe and separate bathroom. The crew quarters are at stern and accessible from the exterior. There are ample spaces, two side cabins, one double and one single, and a bathroom at the center.
